**The Open Data Team at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology organized a workshop titled “Open Data” on Monday, 6 April 2026, at the Royal Academy of Management. The workshop aimed to review the policies governing open data and the associated governance mechanisms, in a way that enhances digital transparency and promotes data sharing across government entities.
The workshop also highlighted the role of the National Open Data Portal in automating the flow of data from various entities, contributing to improved data quality and systematic accessibility. It further addressed ways to enable institutions to effectively publish data and leverage it to support artificial intelligence technologies.
The session witnessed strong engagement and constructive discussions among participants, emphasizing the importance of technical integration and unified efforts to achieve the objectives of Oman Vision 2040. **
